50 Words for Snow, and a Special Offer for My Mentorship Program
Join us for a 2025 to remember...
Hi, and welcome to my little Substack corner. I write about photography, art, design, and the craft of living creatively. I am glad you are here. Consider subscribing to keep up with what I am doing. I promise not to bore you. If you would like to support my efforts, that would be amazing and so appreciated. Either way, I am super happy you are here.
One of my all-time favorite singers is the incredible Kate Bush. As we get closer to that wonderful time of the year when it cools off, I am listening again to her last album, “50 Words For Snow”. A collaboration between her and drummer Steve Gadd, this is music for which there is no genre.
Some Deets:
— Kate Bush's album 50 Words for Snow, released on November 21, 2011, is her tenth studio album and showcases a thematic exploration of winter and snow. The collection features seven tracks, with a total running time of approximately 65 minutes. The shortest of the tracks is seven minutes long. —
These are long-form compositions, ones that allow for a more immersive and intimate engagement with the music.
I have always considered these wonderful words as inspiration for imagery.
NOTE: some of the words were simply made up by Stephen Fry who does the narration.

2 OPEN MENTORSHIP SLOTS
I have two openings in my Mentorship Program.
This is the group for those of you who want to find inspiration in a weekly meeting of creative people.
In the group we look at portfolio pieces, personal projects, and find solutions for marketing and job-related challenges.
We have helped photographers create winning bids, marketing materials, and systems that will grow their businesses faster than any Facebook group could.
This year we are looking at assignments for portfolio growth, and a weekly look at the latest AI tools to help us keep ahead - or at least abreast - of the latest things happening to our industry. Things that will have great impact on all of us, especially creators.
This is a one-time payment, and this December, 2024 it is for life… No additional payments ever.
As I said, I have two openings.
We meet twice a week: Tuesday evenings and Wednesday mornings. This is so we can be available to those in diverse time zones. You are welcome at both, although the weekly topic and information are presented at the Tuesday Evening meeting first. All meetings are recorded.
When you sign up, you will receive a live portfolio critique as well as my suggestions on where to focus to get gigs coming in.
This may be more valuable than a new lens, this is the backbone of creativity and business growth.
See more here, and let me know if you have any specific questions.
You can get much more info here.
When you are ready, here is how I can help you succeed.
Group Mentorship: a small group of photographers who meet to show images, work on their portfolio, and build their businesses with help from a wonderful group. Lifetime membership for one fee.
One-on-one Mentorship: You and me - working together in an intense 6-month push to get you on the way to over $30K in additional revenue. The work we lay down will help you increase and scale your business for years ahead.
Coming in 2025, a One-on-One, 6-week plan to get your marketing system in place. You will see results immediately, and by results, I mean assigned work that pays you. More coming.
