Imagine Where Your Business Would Be If You Did These 10 Small Things Daily.
Photographers, writers, designers, and any creative, do these tiny things every day.
As photographers, we all know that capturing stunning images is our passion
But we also know this: without some savvy marketing, our art might never see the light of day.
My mantra of three contacts per day is a bare minimum approach. I use it because of the hefty weight of inertia. If I can get ya’ll to do three per day, then doing six or twelve will be easier.
Yes, that is my sinister plan. I want to kick your butts until you get successful and make some money - serious money - doing something you love.
Yeah, Immabastard like that.
And I also know how damned busy we all are these days… dayam, right?
So I put together a list of small, short time frame things that you can do each day to help you get your business to the next level, where ever the hell the next level is to you.
Here are ten small but mighty things you can do every day to give your photography business the exposure it deserves.
Social Media Snippets: Start with social media. Post a snippet of your day, a behind-the-scenes shot, or a sneak peek of your latest work. Consistency is key, and it keeps your audience engaged and eager for more. A snippet, not a film.
Engage With Your Audience: Don't just post and ghost. Spend a few minutes each day responding to comments, messages, and engaging with other accounts. Building a community around you and your work is crucial.
Blog About Your Experiences: Share stories about photo shoots. It could be about the challenges you faced, the inspiration behind a photo, or tips on how to solve a simple problem This not only boosts your SEO but also establishes you as an expert.
Email List Magic: Daily, add at least one person to your email list. Then, send out regular newsletters with updates, offers, or photography tips. This personal touch can go a long way.
Network, Network, Network: Connect with one new person a day, whether it's another photographer, a potential client, or a vendor. Networking can open doors you didn’t even know existed.
Learn One New Thing: Stay sharp by learning something new each day, even if it’s small. It could be a marketing trick, a photography technique, or a piece of software. Keep evolving!
Refine Your Portfolio: Constantly update your portfolio. Add your latest work, remove what no longer represents your best, and ensure it’s always ready to impress. Adding a new photo or changing the order in your portfolio can do wonders for your SEO.
Collaborate Often: Reach out for collaborations. Working with models, makeup artists, or even other photographers can help tap into new audiences and fresh ideas.
Stay Active on Forums: Join photography forums or groups and participate actively. Offer advice, ask questions, and share your work. This helps in building your reputation and learning from peers. Just make sure you pick your forums with care. Look for forums that your clients may be involved in.
Reflect and Adapt: End each day by reflecting on what worked and what didn't. Adapt your strategy accordingly. The market is always changing, and so should you.
Ya know, marketing isn't a one-off, done-and-done task. It's an ongoing process, and these small daily actions can accumulate into massive success over time.
Blow your own horn, or you will never be heard.
But it’s OK to start small, with just a few notes, to get into the swing of things.
