The Art is in the Heart: The Spirit of Photography as a Healing Exercise
A discussion with Selina Maitreya on the Soulful Art of Photographic Expression
It started off slow, and, like all ideas that are important, it began to take on a life of its own.
We were on a call and chatting about the changes to the business, what has dramatically changed, and what has stayed relatively the same, when I mentioned that I believe photography can be a wonderful healing tool.
Selina immediately noted that she felt the same way and that she had just finished writing her new book, Raise Your Frequency, Transform Your Life: How to Respond with Love to Life’s Difficulties, and it spoke to many of those same truths.
I work with a lot of photographers helping them build their business, and I know the major choke points that prevent so many of them from launching higher and farther.
I thought this could be a good course for photographers who need to escape the treachery of gear acquisition syndrome and become more attuned to the spiritual side of creating an image.
So over the months, we created it together.
Selina has been a photo consultant to many of the biggest names in commercial photography, and I have been working with photographers for over 20 years to help guide them through the murky waters of being a self-employed creative.
We recorded separately and together, and then we added more value to the course with audio meditations meant to help creative people become unstuck, and more alive.
The course will launch on July 31st, and we are both very excited by it.
The course has nearly 7 hours of video and audio material, and we will have some great bonuses for those who purchase it in the initial weeks.
I will keep you apprised of the details of the course, and I will be talking more about it in the upcoming weeks.

Project 52 Pro System Update
We will begin classes on September 7, and I have opened up a Saturday morning slot for those who cannot attend during the week.
Lots of new assignments, incredible learning opportunities, and a real track to beginning to work as a commercial photographer… I guarantee it.
Lovely to read this Don. I very much believe that photography is a very meditative form of creative expression. It calls on me to slowdown, and focus my attention on what is in the viewfinder, taking me out of my self and into the moment.
