Hey, I've been there. Must'a drove right beside it, and didn't know what it was.

Yep.

Now, if you went in to Fish Lake on the north shore (through Loa and Fremont from 24) you may have not seen them. They are on the southern entrance, just east of the Koosharem exit from 24. Worth a trip back. But then, I am always looking for an excuse to go back to southern Utah.

Thanks Ken.

Either I didn't take any photos there, or I can't find the ones I took, so I have no GPS record of where I was, and where I went.

What I recall is going along the north side of Fish Lake, turning off of Hwy 24 onto 25, and ending up on the hillside north of the lake. If that's correct, then I drove right by the darn thing, but it would have looked like just another Aspen grove and I wouldn't have seen any reason to stop.

Insane. I need to get there. And iPhone or not, I love the second image especially. Just fantastic. And happy birthday too!

I love that area and need to visit more often. I did not realize how old those trees were — that makes it even more special. I get caught up in the rocky desert landscapes along Route 12 and almost forget this is right there! Thank you for sharing.

My favorite roads:

12, 24, and 14.

And you are correct, those red rocks are captivatiing.

When I go back, I am going to spend some time with them as well.

Thanks for the comment.
