Funny to see this now. I just checked into Boulder Mountain Lodge and am heading to Capitol Reef tomorrow. I took my time driving across Route 12 today, exploring the Petrified Wood State Park and stopping at all the brilliant overlooks along Rt 12. It’s one of my favorite roads in the country, too! Lovely pics!

That is such a terrific place to stay. The main road through the park was closed. Try the Burr Trail to the Shaffer Switchbacks. If that road is open it will take you into the southern part of the park. And 24 toward Hanksville has spectacular color. Both of the restaurants in Boulder are excellent. Can’t wait to see your work. Have fun.

I did the Burr trail and switchbacks to Notom Road up to Rt 24, and it was terrific! The road was in great condition and the weather was perfect. I spent all day on the adventure, getting out and walking around the creeks and rock formations. A truly wonderful day.

Nice read. Beautiful colors and textures in your photos! I subscribe to X Premium because I get a twofer... support of free speech and cheap access to Grok 2 Beta. I did some research recently on WHY photographers do "special projects." I kept pressing it and got a compelling list... the expected reasons, but also some fascinating, surprising ones. Really opened my eyes. I thought about you Don. Would love to read an article from you on this topic and hear your thoughts.
